Our Story
We're Linda and Chloé. Mother and daughter, sixty-eight and thirty-eight. For years we went shopping together and came home with nothing.
Linda's side
I ran a small boutique in Savannah for a long time. Every day I dressed women my age, and I kept hearing the same thing: "Everything is made either for my granddaughter or for my grandmother." Past sixty, I felt it myself. The pretty pieces were cut for a twenty-five-year-old. The comfortable ones made me look like I had given up.
Chloé's side
My problem was different. I wear a 2XL, and I carry most of my weight around my middle. In plus sizes I found two choices: shapeless tents, or pieces that clung to every spot I wanted to hide. I don't want to disappear in my clothes. I want to look put-together and still breathe at the end of the day.
So we made one rule
A piece only goes into the shop if it works on both of us. Linda asks: is it elegant, is it right for my age, does it cover my arms? Chloé asks: does it skim my tummy, does it truly fit a 2XL, can I wear it for eight hours? If one of us says no, it stays out. That is still the only rule we use.
Chloé built the online shop, so women everywhere in the country could shop the way we do.
